India-Australia second virtual summit organized

Free Guest Posting: The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, and the Hon’ble Scott Morrison, the Prime Minister of Australia, hosted the India-Australia 2nd Virtual Summit today. During this summit, they reviewed the multifaceted relations between the two countries and exchanged views on regional and global development.
At the start of the summit, Prime Minister Modi expressed his condolences on the devastation caused by the severe floods in New South Wales and Queensland and the resulting loss of life and property.
The two leaders expressed satisfaction at the progress made under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established during the first virtual summit in June 2020. The Prime Minister, Shri Modi expressed satisfaction at the growing scope of mutual relations. This growing scope of relations now covers diverse areas like trade and investment, defense and security, education and innovation, science and technology, important minerals, water management, new and renewable energy technology, research related to Kovid-19, etc. Is.
Prime Minister Modi thanked Hon’ble Scott Morrison for his special initiative to return 29 ancient artefacts to India. These artifacts include centuries-old sculptures, paintings and photographs, many of which date back to the 9th-10th centuries and belong to different parts of India. These artifacts include 12th-century Chola bronze, 11th-12th century Jain sculptures from Rajasthan, 12th-13th century sandstone goddess Mahishasuramardini from Gujarat, 18th-19th century paintings and early gelatin silver paintings.
Prime Minister Modi thanked Prime Minister Morrison for taking care of the Indian community, including Indian students, in Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The two leaders also appreciated the growing strategic engagement between the two countries as a collaborative democracy with shared values ​​and common interests, encompassing a free, open, inclusive and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
A Joint Statement was issued on the occasion covering various aspects of the Deeper Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The two sides also agreed to hold an annual summit between the two Prime Ministers as part of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, thus adding a special dimension to the bilateral relationship.
