Sahitya Akademi to organize Sahitya Utsav ‘Sahityotsav’ in New Delhi from March 10 to 15, 2022
Free Guest Posting: Sahithyotsav, India’s most inclusive literary festival, will be held in New Delhi from March 10 to 15, 2022.
The Festival of Letters 2022 will be a part of the celebrations to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence. The theme of the program will be related to freedom or freedom of movement. The Mahotsav will have a special corner to display books related to India’s freedom movement and other materials related to the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi.
The Mahotsav will begin with the inauguration of the Academy Exhibition on 10 March 2022 by Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State for Culture. The exhibition will showcase the achievements and important events of the Academy held last year. 26 young writers representing 24 Indian languages recognized by the Akademi will participate in “The Rise of Young India” program on 10th March 2022 from 10.30 am at Rabindra Bhavan Lawn. Eminent Assamese writer Yeshe Dorji Thongchi will inaugurate the conference. On the same day, eminent publishers and authors representing various Indian languages will participate in the “Panel Discussion on Publications in Indian Languages” at 2.30 pm.
A “Tribal Writers’ Meet” will be organized on 11th March 2022 at 10 am at Rabindra Bhavan lawns with representation of 24 tribal languages. Eminent Balti poet Shri Akhon Asghar Ali Basharat will inaugurate it.
The prestigious Sahitya Akademi Awards will be presented to 24 awardees on 11 March 2022 at 5.00 PM and the presentation ceremony will be held at Kamani Auditorium, Copernicus Marg. Eminent Marathi poet and critic Dr. Bhalchandra Nemade will be the chief guest at the award ceremony. Dr. Chandrashekhar Kambar, President of Sahitya Akademi will present the award.
All 24 awardees will gather on 12 March 2022 at 10 am at Rabindra Bhavan Lawns for a “Writers Meet” to share the creative process of writing the award winning titles. On the same day, eminent theater personality Shri Bhanu Bharati will inaugurate a seminar on the theme “Development of Drama in India since 1947” and Dr. Chandrashekhar Kambar, President, Sahitya Akademi will preside at 2.30 pm.
The 3-day National Seminar on “Impact of Literature on Indian Freedom Movement” (March 13-15) will start at 10.30 am on March 13, 2022 in the Academy Auditorium, will be inaugurated by Dr. Vishwanath Prasad Tiwari, eminent Hindi writer and Fellow of Sahitya Akademi. And eminent scholar Dr. Harish Trivedi will deliver the keynote address. 42 eminent scholars from across the country will participate and present papers on various aspects of the impact of literature on the Indian independence movement.
On the same day at 2.30 pm, eminent author Shri Devendra Mewari will inaugurate a seminar on “Fantasy and Science Fiction in Indian Languages since 1947”. Sahitya Akademi President Dr. Chandrashekhar Kambar will confer the Sahitya Akademi Fellowship, India’s highest literary award, to Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Swami Rambhadracharya at 6.00 pm at Rabindra Bhavan lawns.
A discussion on “Media and Literature” will be organized on 14th March 2022 at 10.30 am. It will be inaugurated by Shri Venudhar Reddy, Director General, All India Radio, Shri Vishwas Patil, an eminent Marathi writer, and Shri Rajendra Rao, Literary Editor, Dainik Jagran will be the Guest of Honour. On the same day, the President of Sahitya Akademi will preside and eminent Gujarati poet Dr. Vinod Joshi will be the guest of honor at the “Transgender Kavi Sammelan” which will start at 2.30 pm.
“Northeast: The meeting of writers of the Northeast and the Northeast will begin on March 15, 2022 at 11 am. Eminent Hindi poet Dr. Arun Kamal will inaugurate it and eminent Assamese writer Dr. Dhruba Jyoti Bora will be the guest of honor. On the same day, renowned English writer Ms. Mamang Dai will inaugurate and eminent Bengali poet and author Ms. Anita Agnihotri will deliver the keynote address at the symposium on “Literature and Women’s Empowerment”, which will be held at 2.30 pm.
Akademi’s book exhibition will be organized from 10 am to 7 pm on all days of the festival.
