Johnny Lever an Incident

Johnny Lever still doesn’t know who that man was. But in that moment, the man appeared like an angel. This incident dates back to when Johnny was a school-going student. On Grant Road in Mumbai, there used to be a theatre called Nishat Theatre (not sure if it still exists). One day, Johnny Lever and some of his friends planned to watch a movie there. At that time, Farz starring Jeetendra was playing. In an interview with a YouTube channel named “Jeetendra Fans Club Foundation,” Johnny Lever shared that when he reached Nishat Theatre, he saw a huge poster of the film Farz. In those days, posters were handmade. The poster was so large that Johnny kept stepping backward to see it fully, while still looking at it. He had his school bag hanging on his shoulders.Suddenly, he bumped into a vendor selling sweet vadas, and all the vadas fell to the ground. The vendor got very angry, shouted at Johnny, and took away his school bag. He told Johnny to pay for the vadas if he wanted his bag back. Johnny was in a helpless situation.Just then, a man appeared and asked the vendor to return Johnny’s bag. According to Johnny Lever, the man told the vendor, “Give this child his bag back. Tell me how much money you want.” The vendor stated the amount, and the man paid it in full. That’s how Johnny got his school bag back that day. The man then got into his car and left.Johnny says that when he grew older, he tried hard to find that man to thank him—but he never found him again. However, that experience during the screening of Farz stayed with him forever. In the same interview, Johnny Lever also shared another interesting incident about Jeetendra. This happened years after Johnny had bought his own house in Mumbai and had already worked with Jeetendra in a few films. One day, during a conversation, Jeetendra asked Johnny how much he had bought his house for. Johnny replied that it cost him ₹20 lakh. Then Jeetendra asked him what its current value was. Johnny said it had risen to around ₹1.25 crore.Hearing this, Jeetendra gave him an important piece of advice: “Remember one thing, Johnny—never put a price on your house. A house is a home. No matter what its market value is, you live in it. For you, it is priceless.”Johnny says he didn’t immediately understand why Jeetendra said that. He kept thinking about it for days, and eventually realized its deeper meaning. He explained that many people feel secure thinking about how much their house is worth. But often, those same people end up losing everything. Since then, even though the value of his house has increased many times over, Johnny has never tried to calculate its price again. In fact, he even bought another flat just below his original one. And even today, whenever Johnny Lever makes any property-related financial decision, he keeps Jeetendra’s advice in mind.
